  • Review: Terrific wine!!!!!
The 2006 Tilia Malbec presents a dark purple color with violet highlights. The nose offers bright black cherry aromas with light floral notes and a touch of toast. The mouthfeel is full and rich, with ripe, concentrated cassis and black raspberry fruit flavors interwoven with a touch of chocolate and sweet spice from light oak aging. This finish is long and lingering, with ripe, velvety tannins.

Argentina is undoubtedly the fastest moving star in all of winedom, and it has labels that simply drip with value. One such entity is Tilia. Named after Argentina's Linden Tree. The 2006 is black, red and purple, and its nose is thick with a nice combination of black fruits, white pepper spice and a bit of oak. Dark stone fruits abound in the mouth, where there is also excellent mid-palate richness and strength. Silky tannins provide texture and finish. At $14, this is most definitely a wow wine. Thank you, Argentina!
  • Comments: Tilia is produced at Bodegas Esmeralda, a facility run by the legendary Catena family. A great choice is Tilia's Malbec. Malbec is Argentina's signature red, and the results here are simply amazing.
