  • Review: Colour: Profound violet, with magenta shades that “paint the glass”. Aroma: A riveting introduction of freshly crushed cherries and plums, evolves elegantly into a complex combination of plums, wild flowers, incense and spices. Palate: A voluptuous frame of newly pressed jam preserves exposes a meaty texture and polished, voluminous tannins, building to a fruit-packed crescendo laced with violet flowers, cocoa seed and coffee beans. A spectacular example of the 1929 Las Compuertas Vineyard´s characteristic fruit expression which will gracefully age for 15 years. Winemaking: Hand harvested grapes passed through two hand-sorting tables, first as whole clusters and then as single berries after destemming. Fermentation take 27 days. We use delestage and manual punchdowns during the first 15 days to enhance extraction. Only the free-run wine was moved to 100% new French oak barrels for one and a half years. Bottled unfiltered.
  • Comments: ESTATE GROWN (SINGLE APPELLATION). The Terrazas Reserva wines are hand harvested from select estate vineyards within the top districts of Mendoza: Tupungato, Vistalba, Perdriel and Cruz de Piedra. Based on over 47 years of research and experimentation with local microclimates and terrain, each selected terrace has been matched with a unique varietal to express its maximum potential. Developed with extensive focus on vineyard management, and only released during excellent vintages, these wines stand out for their aromatic intensity and complexity.
