  • Review: Excellent Malbec.

This is a great full bodied Malbec which was a hit with a bunch of wine loving friends over pasta. For the price, this is one of the best wines to enjoy with dinner.

The wine has a fruity bouquet. On the palate, the wine is slightly acidic and has good vibrant fruit flavors. The finish is slightly dry and extended. This would be a good wine with a hearty meal.

Deep ruby-red. Varietally expressive aromas of blackberry, boysenberry, violet, meat and smoke. Plump but rather suave, with surprising acidity giving shape to the pliant, subtly sweet fruit. The flavors of black fruits and violet show a slightly roasted character. Still a bit youthfully aggressive on the finish, but the tannins are fairly light and sweet.

Deftly toasted, with spice and mocha notes weaving through velvety raspberry and boysenberry fruit. Coffee and mineral notes on the finish provide a nice tangy aspect. Drink now through 2008. 22,000 cases made.
